Fish fat saponifies — reacts with alkali into a soap that rinses away — which is why the sheet assigns Greasolv to “cleaning of factory to remove fat from floors & equipment”: its alkaline attack converts the fat rather than merely pushing it around, and hot solutions accelerate it dramatically. Mineral oil in the engine room doesn’t saponify, so it gets solvent-emulsifying chemistry (MPC, Magnus 92’s detergent package) instead. Same word, different chemistry, both on the sheet.

Magnus 92 scrubbed over the plates in port — the sheet lists it for “workshop floors, engine room, floors on boats” — with absorbent response to drips at sea and the bilge kept chemically honest (OSE 750 where dispersal is appropriate and legal). A boat that scrubs plates every port call keeps footing safe and makes every oil weep visible early; a boat that doesn’t discovers leaks by slipping on them.

A standing bath: Magnus 645 (ferrous) or 755 (multi-metal) charged and waiting, so components strip while the crew handles the rest of the turnaround — the bath works nights and weekends without overtime. Spray-and-wipe with MPC covers the quick jobs. The pattern matters at the coast because turnaround days are fixed by quota and weather, not by the workshop’s convenience; chemistry that works unattended is crew you didn’t have to hire.

Wash hot for the fat (it saponifies in the wash exactly as on the floor). Factories running daily overall changes should size the laundry chemistry into the standing order; clean overalls in a fish plant are hygiene equipment, not laundry vanity.
