Degreasers & heavy-duty cleaners for Namibian industry

Magnus 215 and several other heavy-duty alkaline cleaners attack aluminium, zinc and die-cast parts, so the metal decides the product. For aluminium components use Magnus 91 (aluminium-safe low-foaming powder) or Magnus 88XL as an acid detergent at 1:19, and for mixed-metal decarbonising baths use Magnus 755, which is multi-metal safe. If you are not certain what an assembly contains, tell us when you request a quote — recommending the wrong bath is how components get etched, and as the manufacturer we would rather specify correctly the first time.

A spray-on degreaser such as MPC Degreaser emulsifies surface oil and grease and is rinsed off within minutes — right for routine engine and parts cleaning. A decarbonising bath such as Magnus 755 or Decarboniser 666 is a soak: components sit in the tank while baked-on carbon, old paint and varnish are lifted overnight. The bath products are formulated to be re-used — you top them up rather than dump them — so the cost per component drops the more you use the tank. Magnus 755 is preferably run in a mild-steel tank.

Two things: an absorbent and, for wash-down situations, a dispersant. Peat D is our environmental absorbent for hydrocarbon spills on floors and hardstands — spread it, let it take up the oil, sweep and dispose. Vermiculite does the same job in a granular form. OSE 750 is a low-toxicity oil-spill dispersant used where residual film must be broken down, including marine settings. Namibian mines typically keep Peat D at every fuel bay because it handles diesel in dusty, dry conditions where washing down is not an option.

Yes — but use a product designed for it. Synapol A is our heavy-duty industrial liquid detergent that is also formulated for steam cleaners, and Synapol GP covers general-purpose detergent dosing through pressure equipment. On Namibia’s hard borehole water, pair the detergent with a periodic Dicafas descale of the machine itself — scale on steam-cleaner coils builds quickly here. Ordinary high-foam degreasers will foam out of control in pressure equipment and can leave the pump starved.
